As main contractor, under a Design and Build (D&B) contract, renovations were initiated in an existing live care home to address deficiencies in the ground floor residential wing and kitchenette, rendering them unfit for resident gatherings. Structural alterations necessitated the removal of dividing walls and relocation of the cinema room, to provide this we worked collaboratively with our structural engineers, ensuring time and cost efficiency for the client. Overcoming challenges inherent in operating within a live care home environment, efforts were made to minimize distress and disruption to residents during brick/block work demolition. Accessing existing foundations and installing large steel beams required meticulous logistics planning due to tight spaces and the need to maintain ambulance access for the care home.
