Orchard Yard

We delivered this multi-award winning scheme as the main contractor, our brief was to deliver an over 55’s assisted living community, consisting of 9nr houses (2 and 3 bed), 6nr apartments, a guest suite, Club House and 15nr car ports. The contract value was circa £5.5m, and the programme was 65 weeks, we successfully delivered this scheme in 2020 on time and to budget.

Originally the site was a farm, and the Club House was to be created out of an existing grade II listed barn. We completed both a sympathetic extension and renovations to create the beautiful club house to serve the new community. The houses were constructed with specialist piled raft foundations and timber frame. Externally we used a combination of brick and Siberian Larch black stained cladding to elevations, re-used and refurbished Welsh slate tiles to the roofs, double glazed slim profile powder coated aluminium clad timber doors and windows, with full height glazed sliding doors to balconies and gardens. Internally the homes are of a high specification, with underfloor heating throughout and Mechanical Heat Ventilation Recovery Systems in every unit. The homes all have smart technology, including emergency alarms and are highly energy efficient for the residents.
