GPS was contracted to build 16 new houses on a brownfield site owned by the Parish Council.
One of our biggest challenges we faced was gas protection, due to a landfill site opposite the new build. We had to create a 2m deep trench along 250m of the boundary of our site to protect the ground from any gas emanating from the landfill. This could have potentially caused major issues and delays, had it not been for an early engagement and risk detection.
Due to this investigative work at early stages, and despite facing challenges such as limited access through a single carriageway, we were able to forward the plan within our scheduled programme. This project benefited from our in-house groundworks team who worked efficiently on the gas trenching works.
All the units were sold off plan.
