Safety Bay

Working as main contractor, we constructed 9 detached houses adjacent to the Medway River, employing traditional piled foundations to address the site's location on an old quarry. A pump drainage system was implemented to prevent waste runoff into the river, necessitating collaboration with our structural engineers for logistical support. Negotiations with Highways England facilitated access via a private road for deliveries. Cleanup efforts were extensive due to the site's history and coordination with Highways England and the river authority ensured compliance and environmental protection throughout. Further to this, a large retaining wall was installed to mitigate flood risks, utilising re-used spoil from piling operations to level the site. Additional infrastructure included a new estate road and fire hydrants. Early engagement and collaboration were key on this project to ensure a timely and budget-conscious delivery. Effective communication with the local school also helped to ensure site/school security and minimised disruptions to the public.
